I lost the ability to perform hotsync on Windows 7. I have Palm Zire72 handheld/desktop by ACCESS 6.2.2 and Hotsync Mgr 7.0.2 installed. Not sure I should reinstall Desktop which apparently includes Hotsync.

Syncing problems are usually caused by the drivers and the improper connections for the software you're using. Before reinstalling the software, go to the program's connectivity options and check to see if everything is set up properly.

Secondly, go to Device Manager (Windows + R > devmgmt.msc) and check the list. All the devices should be installer properly. That means no yellow or red exclamation/X mark should be found on the list.

Alternatively, reinstall Palm Desktop by ACCESS and reconfigure the devices as well as the connections.

Been using this since shortly after switching to Windows 64. (USB driver facility). But is there a limit to the number of entries the datebook can have? Seems like the desktop (but not the Palm) is dropping entries.

The program is limited to 10,000 Address Book records, and to 100 Datebook. If you have more than the numbers mentioned here, Palm Desktop will drop them while keeping the limit. Unfortunately, there is no tweak to bypass these limits. However, there is another application called CompanionLink which is shareware, but at least doesn't have any limits and you can transfer as many entries as you have.

I've used Palm Desktop (ver.6.2.2) for many years. But now it stops working if I want to record an event on any day past January 31, 2015. Is there an update that I've missed? Or what?

Answer by Sean Hill

Indeed, I can confirm this problem exists when you want to create a new event past the date you have mentioned. I have tried every fix I could find including compatibility, registry editing, customized settings, etc., and the program force closes when New Event is activate. Unfortunately, there is no update for the application to resolve this issue. I have tried using the online settings option, but it seems that the servers are offline.

I am using the 6.2.2 version. In the calendar section, year, week and day display normally. However, when I try to display month, the program hangs. This only happens for 2014. For 2013 and prior years, all 4 choices display normally. What can I do?

Answer by Leonard Moore

In order to fix this problem, I suggest you reinstall the application. Before you do that, you need to restart your computer and quite all the running programs for the best experience. Also, the developer states on the official support website that the software is not compatible with dual- or multi-CPU computers and they didn't test it for Windows 7 even if some of the users managed to use it on that OS. These might be the reasons why your application gets stuck. Also, try to keep your application updated to the latest version, because some of the incompatibilities and errors might be fixed in a patch.
